BotScore runs on your device. We do not operate an audit backend or collect page content from you.
What the extension reads
- The page DOM in your browser

Same-origin files when you run an audit: the page URL (initial HTML),
/llms.txt,/llms-full.txt, and/robots.txt - On Chrome, a one-time site-access prompt before your first audit (optional permission requested when you choose to audit—not granted at install)

On Firefox, install shows “Read and modify data on all websites”
because the extension declares host access in its manifest. BotScore uses that access only when
you run an audit on a tab you opened | to read the page DOM and fetch same-origin files (initial
HTML,
robots.txt,llms.txt,llms-full.txt). It does not run in the background or scan sites you never audit. See FAQ: Firefox install permission.
What we do not do
- Send page content to BotScore servers
- Include analytics or tracking SDKs in v1
- Store audits in the cloud
Saved audits
On Free, you can save up to two comparison slots in browser storage on your device. Pro adds up to eight; Team up to sixteen per seat (built in the extension; Lemon Squeezy license required). Clear saved audits anytime from the side panel.
Pro purchases
Pro and Team subscriptions are sold through Lemon Squeezy. We do not operate a BotScore login. After purchase you receive a license key; the extension validates it with our license server to unlock Pro features on that browser. Lemon Squeezy processes payment and tax; see their privacy policy for checkout data.
What we send to our license server
When you activate Pro, and when an activated browser opens the BotScore panel, the extension sends two values to our license-validation service over HTTPS:
- License key — the key from your purchase email
- Install instance id — a random identifier generated on your device to bind the license to this browser
These are sent on activation and on each panel open (to confirm an existing Pro entitlement is still valid). We use them only to verify your license and unlock Pro features. We do not send page content, audit results, or browsing activity to this service, and we do not use license data for advertising or profiling. The free tier never contacts the license server.
Limited Use
BotScore's handling of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use website content only on your device to produce the GEO audits you request, and we do not transmit page content to our servers. License keys are used solely to validate Pro entitlements. We do not sell user data, transfer it for advertising or other unrelated purposes, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
Cookies
botscore.io is a static marketing site. We do not use analytics, advertising, or social-media cookies, and we do not embed third-party tracking scripts.
Our DNS and CDN provider (Cloudflare) may set short-lived, strictly necessary cookies—for example, to protect the site from abuse. We do not use them for marketing or profiling.
Pro checkout opens on lemonsqueezy.com, where Lemon Squeezy's own cookies and privacy policy apply. The BotScore extension does not set website cookies; saved audits and license data live in your browser's extension storage on your device.
